This song was composed on 1976 (rev 2002) based on the poem of a Korean Poet Kim Ji Ha who was in prison at that time. It's a variation based a theme from a Korean hymn.
"For too long, chained hands. For too long, Hands chained in prayer. For too many months and years I have held no one with passion, I have gripped no hand with warmth. Oh Lord, come to me! Break these iron chains, Free me from the heavy chains." It's quite desolate at times, but sometimes one can hear the comfort and peace. This is performed at Arnold and Porter LLP in Washington D.C., on 5/21/2009 celebrating Asian-Pacific Heritage Month. Visit www.hanzone.org for more information on what we do.
