Biography

Pianist Aimee Tsuchiya is currently a doctoral candidate at the New England Conservatory of Music.  She received her Bachelor's at the University of Minnesota, graduating summa cum laude while studying under Lydia Artymiw.  She received her Master's at the New England Conservatory under Victor Rosenbaum.  Her other instructors have included Margo Garrett, Irma Vallecillo, Kayo Iwama and Vivian Weilerstein. She has participated in masterclasses by Andre Watts, Awadagin Pratt, Boris Berman, Emanuel Ax, and Stephen Drury.   

Ms. Tsuchiya has attended summer music festivals, including Tanglewood, Yellow Barn and the Banff Chamber Music Festival, where she received coachings from several members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as well as from Norm Fischer, Paul Katz, Don Weilerstein and The Peabody Trio. 

Ms. Tsuchiya is an avid duo and chamber music performer, and has won competitions and awards, including from the Schubert Club and from the Chopin Society.
