A creation of the famous Roman cultural association "Associazione Culturale Concerti dell'Arcadia®", founded in 1972 by great musicians such as Guido Agosti, Rodolfo Caporali, Franco Ferrara, Hedda Illy, Ferruccio Vignanelli, Dr. Luigi Ronga (of the Academy "Dei Lincei" - teacher in history of music at the University of Rome) and Dr. Francesco Gabrieli (of the Academy "Dei Lincei" and Keeper of the Academy of the Arcadia), the "Duo Arcadia di Roma®", along with the "Trio Arcadia di Roma®", the "Orchestra Concerti dell'Arcadia®" and the "Edizioni Concerti dell'Arcadia®", devotes itself to the baroque, classical and romantic repertory, as well as Italian, European and South-American music of the XXth century. Since many years it has concentrated on rediscovering unpublished and unknown Italian and foreign composers. The Duo has played many concerts in Italy and abroad (France, Germany, Mexico, Turkey, Libya, Albania). Members are Laura Bianco (violin) and Francesco Vignanelli (cello). The Duo took part to many different tours in Mexico, playing in many prestigious theatres and for important associations, where it has obtained public and critical consent all over, as well as numerous awards. By Italian Culture Institute collaboration the "Duo Arcadia di Roma" has been invited to play, in October 2004, by Eskisehir International Festival (Turkey). In 2006 the group was invited to give two concerts in Tripoli (Libya), at the Italian Institute of Culture, and at the Italian Embassy. In January 2009 the Duo was invited to give a tournée in Mexico playing, among other things, as soloist with the Universidad Michoacana Chamber Orchestra (Morelia), and, in october of the same year, the group has held a Masterclass in the "Escuela Superior de Musica Sacra" in Toluca (Mexico). In December 2009 the Duo has held a concert by the Academy of Arts in Tirana (Albania), in the "Klasik International Music Festival" (transmitted in taken directed by the State Television), and has performed a concert at the "Conservatorium of Music" in Valona, where, before the same concert, the Duo has held a Masterclass. In June 2010 the group has held a concert by the Italian Institute of Culture in Grenoble (France), in the "Fête de la Musique". The Duo has interpreted absolute premieres of music of Federico Bonetti Amendola (works dedicated to the Duo itself), and it has realized a cd with CNT discographic house, playing music of the same composer: it has also recorded a cd with F.E.I, a cd with CP-Music/Brighton Festival, a cd with S.Paolo's discographic house of Milan, and three cds for RAI TRADE: of next escape a cd with Urtext's discographic house ("El '900 en Latinoamerica").
The Duo has also recorded, as soloist, sound-track of the film "La Mandragola", Mario Scaccia's direction (DVD published by "Persiani Editore", in collaboration with "Società Italiana CINES").
