Biography

Born in Ukraine, the sisters Elena Zhunke (Violine) and Raissa Zhunke (Piano) graduated the Tschaikowsky Music Academie in Kiew, Ukraine. After studies at the Music Liceum Lublin, Polen and at The University of Music Lübeck, Germany, they get the Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance/Soloist at the Zurich University of the Arts, Switzerland. Teachers and masterclasses: Violine - Nora Chastain, Walter Levin, Rainer Schmidt, Anton Steck, Reinhard Goebel, Michael Vaiman, Dora Schwarzberg, Rainer Kussmaul, Ida Händel, Ivry Gitlis, Eduard Schmieder, Paul Roczek; and Piano: Homero Francesch, Eckart Heiligers, Lazar Berman, Dina Joffe, Andrzej Jasinski, Anatol Ugorski, Edith Fischer, Peter Nagy, Jacques Ammon und Vladimir Krainev. Fellowship holder and prizewinner of international competition, they played on Brahms Festival Lübeck, Festival "Printemps musicale" Moulin d'Ande, Orpheus-Festival Basel, Festival International de Guitare du Paris 2006 and Festival Herbst in der Helferei 2011. Concert Halls: Salle Cortot Paris, Tonhalle Zürich, Wiener Saal Mozarteum Salzburg, Tonhalle St.Gallen, Scharbausaal Lübeck und Grosser Saal Musikhochschule Lübeck, Schloss Wartegg, Pfalzkeller St.Gallen, Suvretta House St.Moritz, Quellenhof Bad Ragaz; also as a soloist with orchestra in Japan, Polen, Ukraine, Germany and South America. Chamber Music Partner were: Barbara Westphal, Troels Svane, Anke Dill, Mauricio Diaz Alvarez, Jacek Klimkiewicz, Hideko Kobayashi u.a.
