Biography

Hanah Stuart, 16, a student of Roland and Almita Vamos at the Music Institute of
Chicago, first became interested in the violin after watching a Boston Pops 4th of July Concert. She enrolled in the Children's
Academy of Music in Philadelphia at the age of five and later became a featured performer at summer music camps in New York and Illinois.
At age ten, Hanah performed at a Southwest Symphony benefit concert and was concertmaster of the Suzuki Orchestra at the SAA National
Convention in 1997. In October 2002 she soloed for the Steinway Young Concert Artist Series and later was selected to perform the
Prokofiev Sonata for Two Violins with renowned violinist Sarah Chang for From the Top.
This January she was named concertmaster of the Illinois Music Educator's Association All-State Honors Orchestra. Hanah joined the
Chicago Youth Symphony at the beginning of the 2003-2004 season and is co-concertmaster of CYSO and Encore Chamber Orchestra. She is
also assistant principal violist for the American Chamber Strings under the direction of Roland Vamos.
