Biography

Jeanne Fox, cellist, is originally from Ohio, where she studied with Marcia Krauss, and then Ralph Curry of the Cleveland Orchestra. Jeanne has degrees from Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School where she studyied with Ardyth Alton and then later with Martha Williams. She studied chamber music with Joseph and Lillian Fuchs, Rafael Bronstein and Arianna Bronne, and The Juilliard String Quartet.  She has performed throughout the Tri-State region with various chamber ensembles and orchestras. Currently she is the founder of the Hudson Valley String Quartet, and principal cello of both the Hudson Opera Theater led by Maestro Ron DeFesi and Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra let by Maestro Kathleen Beckmann. Jeanne also performs with The Foxes, and maintains a private class of cello students. By day Jeanne is a freelance film music consultant working on productions for various cable networks and PBS - the most recent project being on Jazz Pianist Mary Lou Williams.  She is the daughter of the late Harold Lewin - pianist of the Arioso Piano Trio (with Fiona Simon), and Dean of Doctoral Studies at Manhattan School of Music during the 1970's and 80's.  www.JeanneFoxMusic.com
