Biography

Jonathan Ferrucci is a pianist and student of Composition at the L. Cherubini Conservatory of Florence. He graduated in Piano Performance in 2014, achieving the maximum mark cum laude from the same Conservatory, studying with Maestro Giuseppe Fricelli. From the age of 11 he has studied piano with Maestro Giovanni Carmassi first at Florence Conservatory and currently at the Accademia Stefano Strata in Pisa.
In previous years he has taken master classes with Maestros Bruno Canino, Annaberta Conti, and Ilaria Maurri, and in 2014 with Maestros Christian Zacharias, Dimitri Bashkirov and Robert Levin when he was one of 12 pianists chosen to participate in the Emil Gilels International Festival at the Musik Hochschule in Freiburg.
He has performed in concerts and recitals both in Italy and abroad: in Florence at the Bargello Museum, National Library, French Institute, Villa Pietra (of New York University), Gould Institute, and Villa Bardini; in Denmark at the Musik Huset in Arhus; in Budapest at the B. Bartok Conservatory and the Millenaris, a centre for modern and contemporary art; and in the cities of Tokyo and Yokohama in Japan.
Besides his solo concert activities, Jonathan Ferrucci has played in chamber music groups (piano and violin duo, piano and cello duo, percussion trio), and since the age of 14 as soloist with orchestras: in 2008 T. Giordani’s Concerto in C major; in 2011 Mozart’s Concerto KV 595 and in 2013 Chopin’s second Concerto, all three under the direction of Maestro Paolo P. Ciardi; and in 2010 Concerto KV 246 with the Mussinelli Orchestra of La Spezia, conducted by Maestro P. Papini, when he won the Giovani Interpreti competition.
