Biography

Sara Costa

She is considered one of the most talented pianist of new generation.

She graduated with highest honors at the G. Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo in 2006 and in 2010 received her Bachelor’s Degree in the same school with honors, as student of D. Alberti and M. Bellocchio. From 2007 she’s pupil M° Konstantin Bogino, following also the teachings of Vladimir Ogarkov and Svetlana Bogino at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Bergamo. In 2011 she’s obtained with highest marks the Chamber music Diploma (piano duo) at Pianistic Academy “Incontri col maestro” in Imola, under the guidance of Tchaikovsky trio.

Sara has she has been selected to participate in many musical masterclassesbeen selected to participate in many masterlcasses with international teacher and musicians such as she has been selected to participate in many musical masterclassesM °S. Dorensky, V.Lobanov, P.Gililov, M.Widlund, A.Kornienko, M.Roscoe at important schools like Salzburg Mozarteum, Koln Hochshule fur musik, Stockholm Royal College.  In 2011, thanks to a scholarship, she attended summer music courses at Royal Academy in London (“London Masterclasses”) in the class of Norma Fisher, playing in the “best students” concert.

She is winner of numerous awards and scholarships: Awards Mayr, E. Gavasso Award, Scholarship of Academy Perosi in Biella, first prize in the International Piano Forum in Chioggia, Finalist at the European Piano Competition “M. Fiorentini” in La Spezia.

She played for several associations, both as soloist and in chamber ensembles (duo, trio, quartet with strings and piano duo) and with orchestra. She has performed in various cities in Italy: Bergamo Teatro Donizetti, Reduced G. Gavazzeni of Donizetti Theatre, Auditorium della Liberta’, Riccardi Hall, Bernareggi Hall, Sala Piatti, Palazzo Rubini Romano di Lombardia (BG), Albani Castle, Visconti Castle -for Association Musica rara, Brescia, San Carlino Theatre, Vanvitelliano Hall of the Loggia Palace, “Ten days”of “Brescia music weeks, “International Festival of Armonie sotto la rocca” in Manerba del Garda in 2002 and 2005, Auditorium-Artigianelli, Bologna -Officers Club - Lucca- Ademollo Assize Court of the Ducal Palace, playing in the evening dedicated to young talents and in the VII Festival of piano and chamber-music, San Gemini, Biella-Perosi Academy, Palace Gromo Losa-Magliano Romano (RM)-International Festival of Piano and Chamber Music 2008 - Chioggia-Auditorium San Nicolo, Bobbio-Chamber Music Festival, Venice-Sale-Apollinee of La Fenice Theatre, Milan - Puccini Hall of the Conservatory for Concert Society 2010 – Varese-Auditorium-, La Spezia-Civic Theatre, Cremona-Auditorium-. In 2009 she had a concert in quartet with strings from Berliner Philarmoniker, receiving wide success.

 Abroad she has played successfully in France, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Israel, England. Critics  praised  Sara’s ”sincere lyric soul, intense and passionate”, combined with “consistency and fidelity to the composer, always convincing”.


Sara has performed and recorded for Vatican Radio in Rome and Classical Radio and has recently recorded a cd for music agency ClassicaViva in Dorno (PV) with music by Beethoven, Liszt and Rachmaninoff. She has been guest in the program “The Pianist” on Radio Classica. Recently published a new cd, for Wide Classique label, in duo with the violinist C.J.Saccon. She’s Classica Viva Artist.

Sara is also piano teacher at the Civic School of Art and Music in Osio Sopra (BG).
