Biography

Pianist Satah Hyo Jung Lee began her piano studies at the age of seven and violin studies at nine. At age ten, she started accompanying for church and choir. She was a recipient of The Jeanne Dale Katz Award as a violinist (2000). She earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, and graduated with both Distinction in Performance and Academic Honor. She has received numerous scholarship awards: ACSM Senior Scholarship, The Joseph Machlis Memorial Scholarship, and Recognition of Superior Scholarship award. She was a winner of the ‘Young Musicians Competition’ at Carnegie Hall, twice a winner of “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”, and also a winner of the “Tri-state Grammy in the Schools Talent Competition.” Gary L. Ackerman, Member of Congress invited her to perform before his speech, which was featured on Channel 7 News. She has served as adjunct faculty at Queens College since 2007.
