Biography

 

Silvia Tessari. Born in Agordo (BL) in 1984, she graduated at age 17 with honors at the "Conservatorio Pollini" (Padua). She continued her improvement under the guidance of G. Lovato and could benefit from the suggestions of numerous Italian and foreign masters, including Masi, Bogino Petruschansky, Risaliti, Margarius, Rattalino, Volker Stenzl, Canino, Swann, De Maria, Martinez Mehner. She won a scholarship to study the performance practice of Mozart piano concertos with H. Shelley and another one for the International Summer Academy Mozarteum in Salzburg.

In December 2009 she was admitted to the class of Sergio Perticaroli at the Advanced Studies Academy of "Santa Cecilia" in Rome.

Since 1994 prize winner in national and international piano competitions (in Pisa, Ravenna, Moncalieri, Pino Torinese, Schio, in Lamporecchio: "Schumann Prize," in Casale Monferrato, "Fiorella Coppo" Prize, in Trieste, Fucecchio, Piombino: "Giannoni Award", Sansepolcro, Riccione: "European Prize City of Rimini", Piove di Sacco), she is particularly appreciated for "her original and interesting musical ideas, good communication and the intense interpretative ability" (Dario de Rosa, chairman of the International "Marizza Prize").

Selected from more than 200 pianists as winner of second prize in the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, performed in New York City in October 2010 at the Kosciuszko Foundation, with warm recognition.

She has played in numerous concerts as a soloist in various Italian locations, including Venice (for the Association Richard Wagner, German-Italian Association and the "Amici della Musica"), Cortina d'Ampezzo (Dino Ciani Festival), Cremona, Monfalcone, Trieste, Montichiari, Milan, Stresa (Dino Ciani Music Association), Udine, Assisi, Bologna, Rome (Parco della Musica, Parco Archeologico del Teatro Marcello).

She played in Slovenia and Croatia and has given recitals in Koengen (Germany) and Thessaloniki (Greece).
She has performed with Orchestra "Solisti in Villa", "Orchestra of Padua and the Veneto", orchestra "Dolomiti Symphonia" and with the string quartet of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, with a classical and romantic repertoire.
For the Museum A. Murer and the Veneto Region she has performed the soundtrack of the DVD: "Drawings of a mine", presented at Marcinelle (Belgium) in July 2006, and "Homage to Mario Rigoni Stern".

She has collaborated with singers and in 2010 has earned the prestigious scholarship that allows to attend the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth (Germany).

Winner of Doglioni Salotto Prize for her thesis in Classics, she is continuing her PhD in Byzantine philology and Byzantine music at the Padua University. Invited in lectures and symposia, recently she has won the international prize "N. Panaghiotakis", for her essay dedicated to Patriarch Photius' hymnography.

She teaches piano at the Foundation Morello in Castelfranco Veneto.
