Sungmi Park, Violin
Biography
Sungmi Park began to study violin at age the age of three, and when she was eight started her professional career with Dae-Hwan Kim. She earned her bachelor’s degree at New England Conservatory in 2012 under Miriam Fried. Sungmi has won prizes in major national and international competitions including Osaka International Competition, Fritz Kreisler International Violin Competition, and Music Journal Competition. She has performed with orchestras including Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Bucheon Phil Orchestra, and Hyup String Ensemble. She has given concerts and recitals throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Sungmi is currently studying with Mihaela Martin at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln.
