Biography

Tatiana Mikova is an awarded Czech classical and film music composer living in London - an author of concert works for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles as well as solo instruments.

She received international recognition for her chamber “Two Nonets” (Spanish Serenade and Fantasia on Moravian Themes) performed by the renowned Czech Nonet. These two chamber works won Global Music Awards - Golden Medal in USA in 2019 in categories composer/classical contemporary music and were also featured on Performance Today (American Public Media, hosted by Fred Child), Classical KUSC/Los Angeles hosted by Alan Chapman, Classical KDFC/San Francisco and other radio stations worldwide.

Since 2003, Tatiana is involved in film industry as a composer, she has written film music scores for feature films, shorts and documentaries in a wide range of genres and instrumentations. 

Her film scores received many international awards including Los Angeles Film Awards, 2019: The best score for “Herself”, New York Film Awards, 2020: The best score for “The Christmas Sneeze”, The Thing In The Basement Horror Fest, 2021: The best music for “Les Mrtvych, aka Forest of the Dead” as well as numerous other awards and nominations. Her awarded soundtracks were also featured on Classical Music for Modern Life radio show in UK hosted by Mark Kermode. Many of Mikova’s film music scores were performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and recorded in Smecky Music Studios.

Tatiana Mikova received her Master degree in Music Composition from University of West London/ London College of Music and studied Instrumental composition at Oxford University/OUDCE.
