Biography

Israeli-born pianist Tom Zalmanov (b. 1999) is a student at the Buchman-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, class of Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky. He previously studied in Jerusalem with Mrs. Lea Agmon. Tom performs in Israel as well as in Europe, Asia and the US, both as a soloist and as a devoted chamber musician. Tom has collaborated with conductors such as Frederic Chaslin, Uri Segal and Vakhtang Kakhidze, performing with leading orchestras including the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, among others. Fellow of Ravinia Stean’s Music Institute 2018, Tom received coachings and lessons from leading musicians such as Miriam Fried, Leon Fleisher, Robert Levin and more. He is a first prize winner of the Voice of Music “Young Artist” competition and “Piano Forever” Competition in Israel. He is a participant of the Goldman Program of the Jerusalem Music Centre where Tom has taken part in master classes and intensive piano studies with Maestro Murray Perahia and with other world-acclaimed artists such as Emanuel Ax, Angela Hewitt, Menachem Pressler and many others. Tom is a recipient of scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and “Tzfonot Tarbut”.
