Pierre Sancan

Biography

Pierre Sancan (October 24, 1916 in Mazamet – October 20, 2008 in Paris) was a French pianist, conductor, teacher, and composer. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Jean Gallon. In 1943, he won the Prix de Rome for music composition. One of his pupils was Jacques Rouvier.

His Sonatine for Flute and Piano is one of his best-known works.
