Henry Purcell was born 360 years ago; also this week his compatriot, William Boyce, was born.It’s also Arnold Schoenberg’s 145th birthday.The great Italian composerGirolamo Frescobaldi, originally from Ferrara but very successful in Rome (he was appointed the organist of the St. Peter’s basilica) was also born this week.And so were Arvo Pärt and the pianist great Maria Yudina.
