I taught the humanities--comparative world literature, music appreciation, art appreciation, etc and Philosophy courses--logic, ethics, history of philosophy, comparative philosophy in the City Colleges of Chicago and retired last year. My degrees were in psychology, comparative philosophy, and humanities. I appreciate all the fine arts but expecially literature and music for profoundity of thought and expressive power. The fullest experience of being alive for me is immanent and not transcendent and comes through creativity and works of truth and beauty.
