Carlos Gallardo is a Spanish pianist and composer. He studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest (Hungary) and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid where he was a student of Josep Colom and Spanish pianist Carmen Deleito. His other teachers have been István Lantos, Kálman Drafi, Lazar Berman, Ronald Turin, Bela Siki, Robin McCabe, Jean-Paul Sevilla, Dimitri Bashkirov , Boris Zarankin and Robin Wood, among others.
In recent years Gallardo's tours took him to Slovakia, Hungary, Japan and the United States, where he was hailed for his performances of works by Franz Liszt and Spanish music. He also played with the György Solti Chamber Orchestra of Budapest. These programs were devoted to the music of Bach, Mozart and Franz Liszt.
In 1997 Gallardo began recording for the Live Recording Series SLKE collection of the complete works for piano by Franz Liszt. In 2006 Liszt Society of Poland invited him to participate in the series of concerts devoted to Franz Liszt and also record a DVD dedicated to the dances of Schubert, Liszt and Spanish composers.
Carlos is also a composer: he has written 78 compositions for orchestra, chamber and piano.
