Christine Lim, Violin

Biography

Christine Lim is a Korean violinist.

Education: 

     Curtis Institute of Music (2012-              

     Seoul Art High School (March, 2010 - August, 2010)

     Korean National University for the Gifted in Arts (March, 2009 - August, 2010)

     Precollege for the Prodigy at the Korean National  University in Arts (2002-2008)    

Competition Prizes:

2014: 3rd Prize at Menuhin Violin Competition in Austin (Senior Section)

2011: Bronze Medalist at Stulberg String International  Competition

2009:  2nd Prize at International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young   Musicians

2008:  5th Prize at Menuhin Competition in Cardiff, UK ( Junior Section)

2007:  1st Prize at 12th International Violin Competition in KlosterSchontal, Germany

        * also received EMCY special prize and Special prize for the best interpretation of Mozart Sonatas     

She participated in many major violin competitions in Korea and awarded First Prizes. (2002-2006)

Playing Experience:

(Orchestra Playing)

Performed with Gwhacheon Philharmonic Orchestra (2013), Rzeszow Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland (2010), KBS Symphony Orchestra, Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, Euro-Asia Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyunggi Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea many times during last few years, including South Bohemian Orchestra at Tulln, Austria (2006).

*Gave PRODIGY RECITAL twice hosted by Kumho_Asiana Group

*Gave many recitals to raise fund for the Beautiful Foundation (NGO)

 and Music For One Foundation

*Participated and played in Aspen Music Festival and School and awarded full scholarship in 2010 and 2011     

*Participated and Gave Rising Star recital at the International Great Mountains Music Festival and School (2007 and 2009)

*Was the member of Kumho Quintet in 2008, and Kumho String   Quartet in 2009

*Was the Concert Master of Yewon Middle School Orchestra for 2 years (2008, 2009)

*Was the Concert Master of Seoul Art High School Orchestra (2010)

*Was the member of Aspen Chamber Orchestra at Aspen Music Festival (2010, 2011)

*Participated in New York String Seminar (2010)

* Participated in Verbier Festival Academy (2013)
