Biography

French-Argentine pianist, Claudio Chaiquin was born in Buenos Aires in 1961.

He studied with the pianist Dora Castro in the Consevatorio " Manuel de Falla " of his home town. He became rapidly one of the most promising talents of his generation : he was prize-winner of the Competition "Young Soloists" of the National Radio of Argentina, and soloist with the orchestra in the " Coliseo " Theater of Buenos Aires.

His exceptional talent was noticed by Magda Tagliaferro, and he came to Europe on her advice. In Paris, he continued his studies supervised by Dominique Merlet and Marie-Claude Équoy. He obtained a special distinction in the Claude Kahn Competition which allowed him to appear as soloist in the Palace of Unesco in 1987 Paris, France. Then in 1989, disciple and assistant of Aquiles delle Vigne of the Ecole Normale of Paris "Alfred Cortot", he acquired the Superior Diploma of Execution (interpretation) from this school. 

Afterwards, in 1991, he won  the First prize of the International Competition "Vincenzo Bellini" of Caltanissetta, in Sicily, Italy.  Splendidly awarded a diploma in 1993 at the conclusion of the competitive examination of the Rotterdam Conservatorium. 

Following, Claudio Chaiquin was invited in the International Palm Beach Piano Competition 1994. During the years of 1995 and  1996 he performed  in the Opera of Monte Carlo within the framework of the Competition International World Piano Masters of Monaco.

His reputation as a formidable and virtuoso pianist, has brought him to perform in major cities of the world, amongst which are : Rome, Liège, Rotterdam, Paris, Nice, Acireale, Buenos Aires, La Plata, Mendoza...Invited as soloist, with the Teatro Golden de Palermo, in Sicily, conducted by José Serebrier, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the National Orchestra of Lithuania with Armando Krieger and the Orquesta of San Luis, in Argentina. Notably, he interpreted the 3rd  Concerto of Beethoven with Francisco Perales in Buñol, Valencia (Spain). Recently, Claudio Chaiquin has just interpreted the Concerto in D minor of J.S.Bach, conducted by Bernard Calmel in Paris.
