Biography

The pianist Dhurata Lazo Bejleri was born in Gjirokaster, Albania. She started studying piano at the age of 6. Moved to the capital to continue her studies under the guidance of Nikoleta Nako at the Liceo Artistico of Tirana. She graduated in piano studies with the highest honors from the State Conservatory of Tirana in 1990 with professor Anita Tartari performing a rich repertoire of composers from Bach to the Viennese classics, the Romantics, and the music of the 20th century. She also performed music of the Albanian composers as Çesk Zadeja, Tonin Harapi, Albert Paparisto, Feim Ibrahimi, Nikolla Zoraqi, Sokol Shupo, Kozma Lara and others.

After graduating from the Conservatory in 1990 she started her career in Albania, performing recitals and working as a collaborative artist with chamber orchestras. She received wide recognition and performed on numerous occasions with the Albanian Television Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven's 3rd Piano Concerto) and with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Tirana (Grieg’s Concert in A minor).

In September of 1990 she joined her husband in Italy and continued her concert performances, both as soloist and in Duos with him. She has taught in Friuli Venezia Giulia. In 1998 she was awarded her Diploma in Piano studies from the “Verdi” Conservatory in Milan. In 1994 she continued to study at the Portogruaro Music School for Advanced Studies with the Polish Maestro Mika Marian; in 1995 – at the “Karol Szymanowski” Center in Padova, Italy; in 1998 – in Chioggia, Italy; and in 2002-2003 at the Academy of Music in Padova. Italy.

Dhurata performed in Rome at the Villa Taverna (residence of the U.S. Ambassador), in Frankfurt, Germany and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. She also participated in various Piano festivals in Chioggia, Padova, Pordenone and Udine. Currently she lives in Germany and actively concretizes through Europe: in Germany, Italy, Albania, Luxembourg, France.
