Biography

Gabriele
Baldocci
was born in Livorno, Italy in 1980. He won several
competitions, and gave concerts in musical centers such as Tonhalle in Zurich, Parco della Musica in Rome,
Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires, Sala Verdi in Milan, Auditorium RTSI in Lugano, Teatro Ghione in Rome, Palacio des Festivales in Santander. He has played for such festivals as
the Vendsyssel Festival in Denmark,
and the Martha Argerich Festival in Buenos
Aires.

In
2003 he was awarded the Special Honorable Mention at the Second Martha Argerich Piano Competition in
Buenos Aires,
receiving enthusiastic appreciation from the legendary pianist, with whom he
now often collaborates. In 2008, he won the Third Prize at the prestigious Alessandro Casagrande International Piano
competition in Terni,
Italy. In 2005,
he was invited by Martha Argerich to tour Argentina with her and the
orchestra "Sinfonietta Argerich" playing the Beethoven Fourth Piano
Concerto. In 2008, Mr. Baldocci performed a piano duo concert with Argerich and
has continued to perform with her since then.

Mr.
Baldocci began piano studies at the age of six.  From
1995 to 1999 he studied in the Accademia Pianistica Incontri con il Maestro in
Imola. In 1999 he was invited to the prestigious International Piano Academy on
Lake Como. During the five years he spent in the Academy as a student, he studied
with such outstanding teachers as Lèon Fleisher, Alicia De Larrocha, Dmitri
Bashkirov, Fou Ts'Ong, Charles Rosen, Andreas Staier, and Claude Frank. In 2008
he completed his studies and obtained his Doctorate in Piano Performance from the
Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia in Rome.

As a
chamber musician, he often plays with such accomplished artists as Martha
Argerich, Ivry Gitlis, Alexander Rabinovitch-Barakovski, Dora Schwarzberg,
and Mark Drobinskij.  In 2009 he started
a piano duet partnership with the Argentine pianist Daniel Rivera, with whom he is going to release a recording of
Russian music. In 2007 Mr. Baldocci recorded Nino Rota's complete works for
Strings and Piano with violinist Marco Fornaciari, which was released by ARTS.
He will soon record Nino Rota's complete piano works for the same label.

Gabriele
Baldocci serves as professor of piano at the Conservatory of Potenza, in Italy, and regularly
gives masterclasses at universities and music institutions around the world.
