Biography

Taiwanese violinist I-Jung Huang is the winner of 2016 Hudson Valley String Competition, the Laureate of 2015 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, the top prizewinner of TSO “The Young talent” competition, the Academy of Taiwan Strings Competition in Taiwan and was the youngest musician selected at the Young Artist Taiwan Bank in 2011. Ms. Huang has previously appeared as a guest soloist with Taiwan Philharmonic under conductor Günther Herbig, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, and Academy of Taiwan Strings. In 2017, She will perform Brahms Violin Concerto with Hudson Valley Philharmonic during the following season. As a passionate chamber musician, Ms. Huang has participated in the Four Seasons Winter Workshop, Kneisel Hall, Taos School of Music, where she collaborated with Robert McDonlad, Hye-Jin Kim, Michael Kannen, and also worked intensively with members from Guarneri Quartet, Borromeo Quartet, Shanghai Quartet, and Brentano Quartet. During the school year 2013-2014, she was the violinist of Gioviale String Quartet, a Boston-based Honors Ensemble at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Ms. Huang recently graduated from New England Conservatory with Bachelor of Music degree as a student of Miriam Fried, and she will be pursuing her Master degree at The Juilliard School under Donald Weilerstein and Daniel Phillips.
