Biography
Andres Ortiz, violin, started his musical education at the age of eight, later continuing his studies at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, Musikene in San Sebastian, Conservatorio Superior in Madrid, and the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hannover. He has been awarded scholarships by the Isaac Albeniz Foundation, the Comunidad de Madrid and by Spain's Ministry of Culture. Mr. Ortiz is a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Since September 2010 he has been a Masters student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Violinist David Otto Castrillo, recently graduated from the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country in San Sebastian. He was a finalist at the Acordes de Caja Madrid 2008 Competition for young chamber music groups as a member of the Eusebius Quintet. He has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Euskadi Youth Orchestra (EGO), "Cabaletta" Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of Huesca, with which he has been featured as a soloist, touring some of the most important concert halls in Europe.
Maria de los Angeles Herrero began her viola studies at the "Amaniel" Conservatory of Music (Madrid), and graduated in 2009 from the Superior Conservatory of the Basque Country (Musikene). Winner of the Hazen and Madrid's Royal Conservatory of Music Chamber Music competitions, she has attended the Bowdoin International Music Festival in the United States, and has been a member of the Presjovem and Clasica de Espana orchestras. Since 2009 she has been a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. She is continuing her viola studies in the Hochschule fur Musik Basel (Switzerland).
Alvaro Llorente started his cello studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Madrid "Teresa Berganza", and graduated in 2008 from the Superior Conservatory of the Basque Country "Musikene". He currently studies with Maria Casado. As a member of the Miramar String Quartet, he has performed at the Quincena Musical Donostiarra, Sociedad Filarmonica de Bilbao and at the Gerona Auditorium among other venues. In 2008, he received an honorary award at the international chamber music competition "Ciudad de San Sebastian".
