Biography

Born in Taichung, Taiwan, Ja-Sing Lin graduated from the National Institute of Arts where he studied under Boris Lvov, Sergio Fiorentino, Sung-Jen Hsu and Mei-Ling Wang. He is currently studying with Frank Weinstock, Chairman of the Piano Department and Associate Dean at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Lin was successful in both the junior and teenage divisions of the Taiwan Piano Competition. Among his numerous other awards, in 1997, he took second place at the First Taiwan Concerto Competition and received the "Best Performance Special Award" from all orchestra members serving as judges. By unanimous vote he was declared the winner of the "New Music Rising Star Piano Competition" in Taiwan in 1999, and in 2003, he was the first prize winner in the OMTA Piano Competition. In April, 2006, he was awarded the first prize in the Arlington International Competition.

Mr. Lin was invited to China to perform and give keyboard demonstrations with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra of China. He has performed a wide range of repertoire with various Taiwanese orchestras under several of that country's most renowned conductors.
