Michael Griffin (Griffin), piano; choir
Biography
Michael Griffin has been involved in choral education and performance for almost 25 years and is one of the most awarded music educators in Australia.
Michael's achievements with school choirs and jazz ensembles have seen him honoured with several significant awards including the 2006 South Australian Education and Arts Ministers' Award, a National Teaching nomination and a listing in the 2007 and 2008 editions of Who's Who, Australia.
As a conductor, clinician and performer Michael's work has taken him to countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. As an author his music education publications have sold in many countries around the world, and his writing has appeared in leading music publications in the U.K, Middle East and Australia, as well as ISME conference proceedings. His books Music and Keyboard in the Classroom and Modern Harmony Method have been internationally acclaimed.
Michael is in demand as a high school choral consultant and in late 2009 has bookings in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Germany and the U.K. He will be in Washington DC and New York City in October 2009.
