Pavel Vinnitsky, clarinetist, has concertized thorugout the world to acclaim, and is currently leading an active performing career in New York City. An avid orchestral musician, he performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Symphony, the Orchestra of St. Lucks, New York City Opera, Brooklyn Philharmonic, American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Albany and Hew Haven Symphony Orchestras. Among many New York-based chamber music groups with which he performs are the Wind Soloists of New York, International Contemporary Ensemble, Sylvan Winds, Quintet of the Americas and Azure Ensemble as well as the Lyric Chamber Music Society, Wall Street Chamber Players, Sherman Ensemble, Richardson Chamber Players and So Percussion. Mr. Vinnitsky has appeared at some of the world’s major music festivals and venues as a klezmer performer, and was a featured klezmer soloist with the Bachanalia String Orchestra at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. He is also a founding member and artistic director of the Jewish Arts Ensemble of New York, an inovative chamber music group whose purpose is to revive and promote Jewish music. His discography includes recordings for New World and Bridge Records labels, klezmer album “Wondering Stars” recorded in Israel in 2000, broadcasts on WQXR, CBS, Israeli National TV and Bavarian Radio. Mr. Vinnitsky holds degrees in clarinet performance from Tel-Aviv University and Yale University School of Music. His principal teachers were Richard Lesser, Steve Hartman and David Shifrin.
