Biography

Satono Norizuki is a harpsichordist actively performing as a soloist and continuo player collaborating with numerous baroque orchestras and ensembles across North America and her native Japan.

Her expertise extends beyond the concert activities, as Satono has been given historical keyboard lectures and masterclasses at academic institutions and museums. To further promote public awareness of early music, she regularly appears on online radio shows to introduce the history and performance practice of early keyboard music.

Satono's scholarly contributions have been recognized with the publication of her essay, "An Italian Virginal for the Duchess of Urbino and Renaissance Humanism," in the issue of the Japan Harpsichord Society's journal in 2024.

Satono Norizuki holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in harpsichord performance from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she studied with Arthur Haas. She also earned Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in harpsichord performance from the Music Conservatory at Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University, where she studied with David Schrader. Since 2013, Satono has served as the artistic director at Twelve-Note Music, a music management office in New York.
