Although I've specialize in 19th century (USA) popular music now for over 13 years, I have always had a strong interest in classical music and forms (besides playing the guitar and bass for over forty years). I've also transcribed and enjoyed many of A. P. Heinrich's works who has been nicknamed the "Beethoven of America" by one contempary critic. Although I play guitar and bass, I prefer transcribing and arranging, even over composing and performing; although I used to be somewhat prolific in my composing many years ago.
