Played clarinet poorly in high school..saw first opera as a movie...Barber of Seville and Don Giovanni...in high school...at college...Pittsburg Symphony did a concert...had a prof who loved classical music...herad a piano concert at school...had a room mate who increased my knowledge of oper...worked in Cleveland...subscribed to Cleveland Orchestra seaso under Szell for ten years...hooked!!!
