Musician's or Publisher's Notes

During the summer of 1894 Antonín Dvořák spent some vacation time at his beloved summer home in Vysoká in Bohemia. While there, he composed a series of 8 pieces based on themes for piano he had written in his sketch book. He eventually decided to name the series of 8 pieces Humoresques.  Humoresque no. 7 in G flat major has become one of the most popular classical pieces in existence. Separate arrangements for many different instruments and even for choir have been published.       Martin Kasík
