Award-winning composer and pianist Malek Jandali makes his Carnegie Hall debut, premiering new chamber works for piano, cello, and oud. The evening showcases the release of his new album Syrian Symphony, which includes “Phoenix in Exile,” recorded in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Malek’s compositions integrate Middle Eastern modes into Western classical forms and harmony.
