Cantate Deo, from Pièces de Clavecin avec Voix ou Violon            Jean-Joseph deMondonville

Jean-Joseph Cassanea de Mondonville was the son of a French violinist and composer.  The younger Mondonville enjoyed considerable success himself as performer and composer in Paris.  While he wrote sacred music and operas, if he is remembered at all today, it is for his works for violin.  The Pièces de clavecin avec Voix ou Violin are Mondonville's opus 5 from 1748.      Callipygian Players
