Musician's or Publisher's Notes
wrote music for a variety of genres including sacred music for St. Peter's Basilica
(where he worked for six years as assistant maestro
and later as maestro of the Capella
Giulia), secular cantatas, and opera.
However, he is most famous for the hundreds of harpsichord sonatas
written during the last 28 years of his life while working for Maria Barbara,
the Queen of Spain. The Sonata K. 380 is one such sonata; it
follows Scarlatti's customary binary form. Beau Benson
