Reflets dans l'eau
(from Images Book I ) Claude Debussy
The two books of Images
were composed by Debussy from 1905 - 1907.
Each book contains three pieces which are independent works and not
intended to be played all together.
Reflets dans l'eau ("Reflections on the Water") opens in a slow
tempo with a melody in the left hand much of the time while the right hand plays
a set of chords to accommodate the melody. It is a gently poetic evocation of ripples moving across water. Anna Petrova
