Andante, from Sonata, Op.19 (arr. Ashu) Sergei Rachmaninov
After studying at the Moscow
Conservatory, and the disastrous premiere of his Symphony no.1, Sergei
Rachmaninoff entered a creative depression that was not overcome until he got
medical help in 1900. He then quickly
composed his Second Piano Concerto, often considered one of his greatest
works. His next composition was the
Sonata for Cello and piano, Op.19, completed in 1901. Ashu
