Trio Sonata in c minor      Johann Joachim Quantz

This is one of the many sonatas for winds, strings and continuo written by the 18th-Century virtuoso flutist Johann Quantz. The brief Allegro movement, presented here, is in standard sonata form. The violin plays the main theme at the very start of the piece. The oboe answers, and the theme is elaborated upon and grows in the relatively short development. The theme returns in full force and leads the three musicians to the exciting close of the movement.   Pandora's Trio
