Water was one of the favorite subjects of Impressionists; Reflet dans l’eau (Reflections in the water) is one of Debussy’s most famous pieces in which he depicts musically various reflected images. Hommage à Rameau is in the style of a sarabande, a stately Baroque dance movement, Debussy’s nod to the revered French composer.
