Musician's or Publisher's Notes

Chopin's c sharp minor etude, composed in 1834, is a stunning contrast to virtuosic and tumultuous etudes that surround it. A study of sadness, it presents challenges of phrasing, shaping, and sound rather than the more fleet-fingered feats of the other etudes. Its brooding, voluptuous melody in the left hand takes on an almost operatic character at times, while quietly murmuring at others.     Inna Faliks

why did u leave me, why did u go away, why did i let u go, why did God
let me be with u and then withdrew u?? why would i be with u like an amalgamated precious stone and then came the parting away? there is no answer, no explanation, no rational structure, just the experience we shared and then silence and eternity....
