Valses poéticos Enrique Granados
Catalan composer Enrique Granados is best remembered today for his piano compositions, although he wrote works in many genres. His most famous work may be his opera Goyescas. Even that work, however, has as its antecedent a piano suite of the same name which Granados composed before the opera.
Granados wrote the Valses poéticos in 1887 for solo piano, and it was one of his earliest works. It is in seven contrasting sections, all quite short, with two lasting under one minute. The waltzes are frothy and of infinite charm.
