Choral Prelude Ich Ruf Zu Dir, Herr Jesu Christ Johann Sebastian Bach
Ferruccio Busoni, one of the greatest composers and pianists of the past, was particularly devoted to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. He composed many works based on Bach's themes and transcribed many of Bach's string, orchestral and organ music for solo piano. As Busoni himself stated, the aim of these transcriptions was to encourage later generations to discover and study Bach's immense art. This short, intimate and inspired choral prelude is a fine example of the beauty of Bach's music. A. M. Ammara
