Aria di Figaro Gioacchino Rossini
The "Aria of Figaro" from Gioacchino Rossini's The Barber of Seville is, like the Grieg pieces on the program, superbly arranged by Guinsbourg. The opera received its premiere at the Argentina Theatre in Room in 1816. Rossini delivers first rate sparkle and wit throughout Barber; and the work has remained a favorite in the repertoire since its premiere.
This aria has attained cult status, owing as much to Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd as to the many fine baritones who have sung the role! Hayk Arsenyan
